Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most, with links to the guides.
Account and signing in
Wait a minute and look in your spam folder, then press “Send a new code”. Also check the e-mail address you typed on the sign-in page.
With a passkey, you don't need a code at all.
Choose “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page and enter your e-mail address. Greezy e-mails you a link that works for an hour to choose a new one.
An admin approves new accounts before they can sign in. You get an e-mail once yours is approved.
An admin has turned off signing in with Google. Choose “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page to get a password for your account, and sign in with it.
Greezy refuses these characters in everything it is sent, as a protection against attacks. Any other character works.
Choose “No passkey at hand? Get a code by e-mail” when Greezy asks for the passkey, and confirm with the e-mailed code. Or add a passkey on the computer, too.
Changing or resetting your password signs you out on every other device. Greezy also signs you out after about 30 days.
You can't do it yourself yet: ask an admin, for example through the contact in the “Imprint” at the bottom of every page.
PRO and limits
Standard accounts keep up to 25 recipes, 2 recipe groups and 2 shopping lists of their own. At that number, the page shows a note instead of the button to add another. Delete one you don't need, or ask an admin to make your account a PRO account.
These come with a PRO account, as do the assistant and AI assistants that read your recipes and lists. Standard accounts see a note where they would be.
No. Only what you created yourself counts, and temporary lists don't.
An admin makes your account a PRO account; there is nothing to pay. “Account” → “Account type” shows when it is one.
Assistants read your recipes, groups and lists while your account is a PRO account. When it becomes a standard one, they only answer questions from the help, and see your data again once it is PRO again. If nothing works at all, the token may have expired or been revoked.
It answers 50 messages a day per account and starts again at midnight. If it says it isn't available, try again later. Standard accounts have no assistant: it comes with PRO.
Recipes and side dishes
Most often the name is too short: recipe names need at least 10 characters. Every ingredient also needs a description and an amount of 0 or more. Fields with a problem turn red.
It stays grey until you changed something, and while a field isn't filled in correctly; such fields turn red.
Greezy reads most recipe websites, but not every page. If it can't, it says so – then type the recipe in yourself. Make sure you pasted the address of the recipe itself, not of a list of recipes.
It marks room for a side dish, like “Rice”, that you pick each time you plan the recipe. Greezy then puts the side dish's ingredients on the shopping list.
Greezy offers recipes with “Fixing?” ticked that have the placeholder's name as a tag. Write one, or tick “Fixing?” and add the tag to a recipe you have.
Check the search field and tags above the list. Side dish recipes only show with “Show Fixings” ticked. Recipes of someone who left your family go with them.
Check that “Keep screen on” is on at the top of the page. If your browser refuses, for example to save power, the switch turns itself off – turn it on to try again.
No switch at all? Then your browser can't keep the screen on: set your device to lock itself later instead.
Shopping lists
The same item in the same unit adds up, so you see how much you need in all. To keep them apart, word them differently.
Temporary lists from “Shop now” are deleted after a week. Press “Keep list” on one to keep it. A family member may also have deleted a list.
In a store, open the list with “Shop in store” and tap what you put in your cart; “Finish shopping” takes it off the list. Ordering through Greezy takes items off by itself. Running lists keep their items.
Yes: everyone opens the list with “Shop in store”. What one of you ticks off shows on the others' phones within seconds.
Greezy doesn't know your store yet. Put each item into its section once with the three dots, or press “Sort with AI” (PRO): your family's lists remember where items go.
Press the three dots next to it and pick the right section. Your family's lists put it there from then on.
Yes, for the shopping lists you opened recently: they open, and what you tick off with “Shop in store” goes to Greezy once you're back online. Other pages need a connection.
No. Greezy only reads Bring lists to import them. When you send a list to Bring, you add its articles in Bring yourself.
Shops and ordering
It never pays. At Picnic it fills your cart, and you order there. At Flotte Karotte and Ökullus it adds products to your next delivery, which you can change until the deadline. At dm, flaschenpost and REWE, you order on their websites.
Picnic, Flotte Karotte, Ökullus, dm, flaschenpost and REWE, all in Germany. More may follow, Knuspr among them: as of October 2026, Knuspr doesn't let Greezy connect yet.
Yes. On the dm card under “Integrations”, pick “In a dm market” and your market. When you order a list, dm then only shows what that market has in stock right now.
Connect a shop first: the list shows “Connect a shop” until you do. An empty list can't be ordered either.
Picnic sends it to the phone number of your Picnic account. Press “Send a new code” after a minute, and check the number in the Picnic app.
Use the login of the shop's website. If the shop wants your customer number instead of the e-mail address, Greezy says so; you find the number in the shop's e-mails or in your customer account. After too many tries, wait a while.
The shop's app and website keep their own copy of your order and may not show Greezy's changes – but the shop has them. Don't save the order there, as that could undo them.
Shops search for the words of the item. Try fewer or other words in the search field, e.g. “tomatoes” instead of “cherry tomatoes on the vine”, and press “Search”.
Picked a dm market? Then dm only shows what it has in stock right now.
They are the shops' prices when you search. Totals are estimates, as loose goods are weighed and prices change. The shop's checkout has the final price.
The shop no longer accepted the saved login, e.g. because you changed your password there. Log in again on the shop's card under “Integrations”.
Family and sharing
Your own, if you are logged in yourself. Otherwise the one of the member you pick under “Family logins” on the shop's card; until you pick, the oldest account's. The same goes for Flotte Karotte and Ökullus, for the postcode at flaschenpost and REWE and for dm's settings.
A family sees and edits all of each other's recipes, groups and lists. A share link shows one recipe or group to anyone, or lets anyone add to one list, without seeing the rest.
Guests can't see or change their items once they are added. Ask the list's owner, or sign in next time: then you see and change your own items.
Whoever shared it deleted the link, or what it showed. Ask them for a new one.
Look in the spam folder. The inviting member can press “Send again” for a fresh link – only the newest one works, for 7 days.
If you had a Greezy account with the address before, look on your family page: the invitation waits there too.
If your family invited the address already, press “Send again” instead. People in your family can't be invited again.
A family has room for 10 people, open invitations included; a standard account invites one member.
While you're in a family with others, you can only decline. Leave yours with “Leave family” first.
Accounts made after the invitation went out don't see it on the family page: accept with the link in the e-mail.
Privacy and safety
Yes. Greezy keeps only what it needs, encrypted: for Picnic and Bring the access they give it, not your password; for Flotte Karotte and Ökullus your password, as they end logins after an hour. Log out on the shop's card to remove it.
All your recipes, recipe groups and shopping lists, and they can change them. Your shop logins, your postcode and market at flaschenpost and REWE and your dm market only if you turn on “Share Integration Logins”. Not your password, passkeys, API tokens or payment details.
What you allowed: read your recipes, groups and lists, and, with editing allowed, add, change and delete them and share them by link. With a standard account it only reads this help. Revoke it on the API tokens page at any time.
It only reads: this help and your and your family's recipes, groups and lists, for the question you ask. Your messages and what it read go to Anthropic's AI Claude, or to Cloudflare's AI service when Claude can't answer, which writes the answer and doesn't train AI with them. Greezy doesn't save the chat.
When something doesn't work
Reload the page and try again. If a shop doesn't answer, try again later: Greezy can't reach it. Unsaved changes are lost when you reload.
Save what you are working on, then press “Reload now”. Changes you haven't saved are lost.
Turn off “Show Help” in your settings. The help center stays in the menu.
Yes: with a PRO account, ask the assistant in Greezy – the speech bubble at the top right. AI assistants you connect to Greezy, such as Claude, read this help center and its FAQ too, with a standard account as well, in English or German. Ask them how something works, e.g. “How do I share a shopping list?”, and they answer with the steps and a link to the guide.
