Account and security

Your name, password, sign-in code, passkeys and Google sign-in.

Account type

“Account type” under “Account” shows whether you have a PRO or a standard account – and for a standard account, how much of its room you use.

Your name

“Name” under “Account” is the name others see: your family, and the people you share with by link.

Leave it empty to show no name; your family then sees your e-mail address.

Change your password

  1. Open “Account” in the menu behind the person icon.
  2. Under “Password”, enter your current password and the new one twice.
  3. Press “Change password”.
Good to know
  • A new password signs you out on your other devices.
  • Signed up with Google? Set your first password here with “Set password”.

The sign-in code

When you sign in with your password, you confirm it's you with a code Greezy e-mails you, or with your passkey. So even someone who knows your password can't get in.

Good to know
  • A code works for 10 minutes, and once.
  • Signing in with Google needs no code.
  • Got a code you didn't ask for? Someone knows your password: change it.

Passkeys

A passkey replaces the e-mailed code: you confirm signing in with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.

  1. Open “Account” and find “Passkeys”.
  2. Name it, like “iPhone”, and press “Add passkey”.
  3. Confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.
Good to know
  • Passkeys work together with your password, so your account needs one.
  • Passkey on another device? Choose “No passkey at hand? Get a code by e-mail” when signing in.

Sign in with Google

Signed up with Google? Sign in with the Google button. Signed up with a password? Link Google under “Google sign-in” in “Account” to use both.

Good to know
  • Only the Google account you linked works, not just any with the same address.
  • To unlink Google, set a password first.
  • If admins turn off signing in with Google, get a password with “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page.

Sign out

Open the menu behind the person icon and choose “Sign Out”. On a shared computer, always sign out when you're done.

Delete your account

You can't delete your account yourself yet. Ask an admin, for example through the contact in the “Imprint” at the bottom of every page.

Good to know
  • Deleting it removes your recipes, groups and lists – for your family too – and your shop logins. Items you added to others' lists stay there, without your name.
